Shocking, little-seen video footage from some of the worst tsunamis on record. Through educating ourselves, we can help avoid future disasters such as we have seen with the Japan Tsunami of 2011 and the Asia Boxing Day Tsunami of 2004. Contains images some may find distressful. 11th March 2011- BBC NEWS REPORTS: A tsunami has caused major damage in north-eastern Japan, after a massive 8.9 magnitude earthquake strikes off the coast. Our thoughts are with all those affected. These are real images and clips, mainly from the 2004 disaster that shook the world. (I realise the song choice (Strawberry Swing) has been seen by some as perhaps inappropriate - I'm sorry for any offense taken. None was intended) For the thousands still homeless, still dying, we must make a difference. The 2010 Haiti earthquake was a catastrophic magnitude 7.0 Mw earthquake, with an epicentre near the town of Léogâne, approximately 25 km (16 miles) west of Port-au-Prince, Haiti's capital. The earthquake occurred on Tuesday, 12 January 2010. An estimated three million people were affected by the quake; the Haitian government reported that an estimated 316000 people had died, 300000 had been injured and 1000000 made homeless. Haiti has yet to recover from this disaster.
