IF YOU'RE HERE FOR THE LIGHTSABER - It's somewhere around 02:28 but please watch the vid from the top :P Follow me @visualgroove or @febbytan (for Indonesian fellas) --Watch in HQ if you can - subscribe if you like - share if you feel like doing it ;)-- Hello :) This is the last video for 2010, I guess. Yes, I changed my studio's wallpaper color into green. Brighter. Yay! Anyway. This one is not 100% drum cover, but more likely to be an experimental video. This is a drum cover footage, mixed with some kind of visual effects. I'd like to call it Visual Remix :) The visuals are inspired by the Daft itself. Recently I watched a lot of Daft Punk live videos. I might die if I have a chance to watch them live. Audio and footage recorded live. Audio recorded in Line 6 UX8 + Samson Drum Mic Kit. Mixed in Logic Pro. Edited in After Effects.
Follow me on twitter @visualgroove (for tweets in English) or @febbytan (for Indonesian fellas)! ------ This is my first video with my nu drums, the Sonor 3005 full maple ;) Chris Adler is an amazing drummer I have to say. So, learning this song needs big time effort. But it turns out to be fun at the end :) I use my old Sony dynamic microphone for karaoke (?), plugged in to Zoom 606 guitar FX (bypassed), and placed in front of the drums 10 cm above the bass drum. As you can hear at the beginning, I compress the drum part of the original song. Basicly I cut the bass off and make the sound of the drums to be 'not really punchy'. So I can put my drums over it and they're easily merged. In the whole video, all you can hear is my drums :) DRUMS SETUP: Sonor Force 3005, with Evans Emad on bass drum, Evans genera HD Dry on snare. Yamaha Flying Dragon DFP-9410 double pedal. Hi people, it's me again :) First thing first: For those of you who facebook messaged me, tweeted to me, etc etc requesting for drum covers, unfortunately I won't be able to do so until at least next year, because currently I'M IN THE UK! :D Moved to Newcastle last September for studying. So here I am, back with a guitar piece again freshly recorded from my dorm room in Newcastle, UK :) Anyways. December is here, and this is my first Christmas away from my beloved family, friends, and my country. It supposed to be my first time as well to experience snow (if there's any :p). So me and myself guessed that this is the right time to jam together to play our all time favorite Depapepe tune, SNOW DANCE. It took more than 10 takes, numb fingers, and overheated DSLR for us to play the whole thing right. Tricky fingerings, but so much fun :) My equipment is very minimal this time: video recorded on iPhone, sound recorded on Garage Band. By the time I upload this video, I'm wrote a little behind the scene thingy for some fellas who frequently send me messages or comments asking about my equipment or my recording technique. Will post it on my blog ASAP ;) That's it for now. Watch the vid. Share it if you love what you see. Leave comments if you feel like doing so. I promise to myself I will reply to comments more often. ;) Hopefully you enjoy watching it as we (me) enjoy making it. Cheers!

Follow me on twitter @visualgroove (for tweets in English) or @febbytan (for Indonesian fellas)! ------- Well this time I play guitar. Just for fun, lol. I recorded myself live both audio and video. So what you hear and see is me playing. This footage is like the 100th footage something lol. i'm no guitar player so I need to retake again and again to get the perfect whole-song record both sound and visual. sigh. Sorry for mistakes. Audio mixed in Logic Pro. Video edited in Adobe Premiere Pro. Equipment: Cort SFX-1F Sennheiser HD-202 Macbook Pro Bleeding fingers lol
follow me on twitter @febbytan (for Indonesian fellas) or @visualgroove (for tweets in English ;)) ------- Sorry for the mistakes here and there. Only got 2 days to learn this song and I don't use pick (I'm not used to play with no pick but this song requires me to play without it)
Follow me on twitter @visualgroove (for tweets in English) or @febbytan (for Indonesian fellas)! **ATTENTION ALL LADIES** Learning this song might lead to broken nails, serious sore to the tips of your left fingers, or wound if you're misfortune. Highly not recommended for those of you who did manicure a lot. I'm serious ladies. LOL. nope. kidding. This is my first attempt playing Klimbim. It's not that perfect, and I did some improvisation to cover my mistakes here and there. Anyways, Don Ross is amazing. Thanks to prisathecutedevil for introducing me to this song in the first place for the first time :) Enjoy the video. Stars if you appreciate it, favourite if you like it, comments if you want it, share if you feel like doing it :D
--Watch in HQ if you can - subscribe if you like - share if you feel like doing it ;)-- Follow me on twitter @visualgroove (for tweets in English) or @febbytan (for Indonesian fellas)! Yay, new vids! Experimenting with more advanced camera and recording techniques ;) Now I'm using 2 cams. The first one is in front of me and the other one is put way overhead to capture my movement around the drumset (thanks to Tasya for borrowing me her little red nifty camcorder!) For the recording, finally I attach my Samson drum microphones into the right places ;) My drums is completely mic-ed. 7 channels in total. I adapted Cobus Potgieter's technique of recording and mixing. My method is more or less like this: putting noise gates for each individual drums, cleaning the room sound that captured by the 3 condenser mikes, and compressing the whole drums sound so it sounded like 'on the top' of the original song. And I also EQ-ing the original track a little bit, particularly reducing the bass frequencies so my kick drum sound more frontal. I have done my best to make my drums sound more open, but however my drums isn't located in a good-acoustic-controlled room. So...yeah. That's pretty much it ;) Enjoy guys! Thanks for watching. God bless y'all. Cheers. ------------------- Set To Fail by Lamb Of from the album Wrath is copyrighted by it's own respectful owner.
Follow me on twitter: @visualgroove (tweets in English) and/or @febbytan (tweets in Indonesian) ---- Hi, this is me playing Kaki King's Bari Improv. I've heard this song for the first time in the movie August Rush, and felt in love ever since. Kaki King is a very talented guitar player. You should check her out. There are some awesome live performance videos of Kaki King here on Youtube :) Oh, and August Rush has one hell list of soundtracks. Highly recommended to watch as well! PS: like I always said, tap and slap on acoustic guitar is not recommended for manicured fingernails, ladies. Seriously. PSS: and yes Sa, that's your shirt I'm wearing! :) ----blabs about technical details start here---- I'm using Cort SFX1F. The mic in front of my guitar is Samson C01 condenser, to pick up the tap and slap sounds that might not be captured well from the guitar's built-in pick up. Both source are plugged in to Line6 UX2, right into Logic Pro, and both channels are layered with delay effect. If you have anything to say just drop some hellos on the comment. Cheers, people!
Follow me on twitter @visualgroove (for tweets in English) or @febbytan (for Indonesian fellas)! -------- Hi folks! :) Another cover, first time drum remix. I didn't dare to say it "metal remix". It's no metal at all, although there's double pedal involved. Say it rock. Period. About the song, well it's kinda different from my usual choice. The song itself has been stuck in my head for weeks after I heard it for the first time. Besides, my band mates feed me with loads of "rock remix" lately. So I thought imma give it a try. The original song has drum loop. The drum part that you hear on this video is arranged by me. About technical details, it is the same Sonor 3005 I used on my previous videos. The audio is recorded live with 6 mics in total, plugged into Toneport UX8, plugged into my macbook. No triggers at all. Every sound is pure from the top of the drumheads. No foot camera this time, but I use overhead camera that capture the movement of my beaters. Feel free to share or tweet if you like it. Don't forget to mention me @visualgroove :) And yes, I'm Indonesian.
