FearFlix is my new YouTube series featuring horror movie reviews. Normally, the episodes will feature reviews of classic horror films. For the first episode of this series, we decided to review a modern horror film, Paranormal Activity 3, which is the third entry in the popular horror series. Matt's Review from Rotten Tomatoes: Paranormal Activity 3 ends up being just another typical found-footage movie with the same ending as all the other found-footage flicks. The story goes so far off from the original simplistic path, that die-hard fans (like me) won't even be able to re-watch the first two films, and take them seriously. They should have just furthered the story from where it left off at after PA2, instead of giving us yet another unnecessary prequel. Especially one that uses cliche loud noises to try and scare us, rather than scaring us with atmosphere and suspense, which the first 2 films did perfectly. All in all, casual horror fans will probably enjoy this, but true fans of the creativity and originality of the first 2, will be left scratching their heads in amazement, at how such an entertaining, creative, and successful series, could come unraveled in a mere 81 minutes.
