As if you weren't excited enough to see Prometheus in theaters, now you can look forward to a sequel! Plans are already in motion for a follow up film, and Clevver Movies has story. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sir Ridley Scott is already lining up plans to start production on Prometheus 2, which he hopes to start as soon as a couple of his other projects are completed. Since Prometheus is tied to the "Alien" chronology, the sequel's potential scriptwriter Damon Lindelof clarifies that a Prometheus sequel will not be another Alien film. He tells E Weekly: I look at it more like a story that is running parallel to the original Alien, so that if there was a sequel to this movie, it would not be Alien, it would be Prometheus 2. And then Prometheus 2 is parallel to Aliens. Considering Prometheus 1 is one of the most anticipated films of the year, its box office results will certainly warrant a sequel. Are you ready to revisit the Ridley Scott alien universe? Sound off your thoughts about the movie below. Make sure to stay tuned to ClevverMovies for more exclusive movie news.

The movie surpassed the $400 million box office mark this Thursday, making it Disney's highest grossing film and the 6th highest grossing film of all time. To date, the film achieved an International box office of $668.7M and Domestic box office of $402M for a total Global $1070.7M gross. It's Disney's 5th movie to cross the billion dollar global box office threshold. Its success is not just from midnight showings either. It achieved the second-highest single day tally of $80.8 million as well as the highest single day tally for both Saturday and Sunday. It has the biggest domestic opening of all time and the highest grossing domestic film of 2012. Granted, we are not that far into 2012 just yet, but with figures like these, only Loki's magical powers could conjure proper competition. Battleship is proving to be no competition whatsoever. It opened to only $420K in 1074 theaters. With a worse opening than Disney's flop, John Carter, there is little domestic expectation. However, its patriotic alien versus military subject matter could fare better in flyover country. Luckily, with an international gross of $220 mill, it already made back the $209 mil budget. If you've seen The Avengers already, which you probably have, go check out ...
